You should -- chances are they'll be sold out for some time when it's release. I preordered mine, of course.

I've never in my life ran into the problem of having a game sold out at both of my local stores.
I live close to both an EBgames and a GameStop.
No I haven't. I might if they offer free overnight shipping on gamestop.com, I did that before haha. Otherwise I'll just swing by one. Much more satisfying that way.
And Natalie Portman is mine, you can't have her.

I think I will wait till it releases. I usually dont preorder games unless it comes with a preorder bonus.

Either way, you should pre-order it. People who pre-order it get a Limited Edition metal Collector's DVD thing. There's two kinds too.

I didnt. I probably wont even get it. I bought Halo and that was a waste of money.

Why do you think it was a waste of money?

You don't get the special edition just for pre-ordering. You actually have to order the special edition.

I might preorder it a week before it come out. or a month. Its kinda pointless to pre-order this early, come one, not even the first zelda game on N64 was that bad.

OK, I broke down and did it. I was at Gamestop on Saturday and they said that Halo 2 would cost $50 and that the special edition would be $55, so I pre-ordered the special edition. If I'd had the money, I should have paid for the whole thing up front so if they changed their minds on the price, I could show them a receipt saying "paid in full."

So, whats the difference between the Regular and Special Editions?
TeMpEsT
06-01-2004, 10:18 PM
The regular edition is just the game, the special edition will give you "behind-the-scenes" media from how the game was made, press interviews, etc.
TuckerXE
06-02-2004, 03:04 AM
I think it comes with a poster, a DVD of the stuff TeMpEsT mentioned, and it comes in a metal box... It's worth an extra $5.
ROTFL - thinking of pre-ordering... I was at EB today, and they had a brand new Star Wars Episode I Racer edition Nintendo 64 (comes with that game, a "special" controller, and the expansion pak - it's memory) for $15.
BTW, they confirmed the $55 price for the special edition.

Think if I go back to EBGames and give them $5 they'll get me the special edition?

You mean change your pre-order? All video game stores are getting a little weird lately, but I can't imagine they wouldn't. I mean, it's not like they've actually made the orders yet.
WolfmanNCSU

Hmmmm, I just realized that I have a gift certificate to the mall (with and EB and Babagges), so I may go pre-order the game. Not sure yet.

I don't think i will, as by the time it is released i will be in Universty and may be working on a major project or studing for exams, Halo 2 would be way to much of a distraction.

My school could be on the verge (if not already) clsing down, so I would be forced to home school. What does that mean? Extra time with my Xbox and Halo 2.
slimscane
06-05-2004, 07:11 AM
why would it close down?
Shriden
06-05-2004, 08:58 AM
Becasue of all the health issues that go on. I mean, the walls are mold-covered, the roof falls apart, not to mention leaks. It rains more inside of the building than outside. Power blinks on and off... there's never any soap, not to mention toilet paper or even paper towels. It's an over all crappy school. Only reason I go is because of the I,B. Program there (which, without it, the school would be graded an F rather than a C).
So, if it does, I'll just spend time with my Xbox and Halo 2, and get a chance to camp in front of GameStop.
TuckerXE
06-05-2004, 04:36 PM
Wow - that sucks. What is an IB program?
Shriden
06-05-2004, 11:43 PM
International Bachaloret; not sure about the spelling on that last one. It's basically a magnet program. ^^
Without it (basiclly because of the FCAT - test in Florida which decides you either pass the grade or move one - the school would be an F). That's what they do wth the IB... schools that need a better grade, they put an IB program.

Just to go back to Halo 2 for a minute, I had to drop by and tell you all what happened the other day. I originally pre-ordered it with just a $5 deposit. I went back to the store where I pre-ordered and asked if they were cool with people coming in and paying the rest before the game is released. They said they actually prefer it that way, and will set aside the games that are completely pre-paid on the release day so you don't have to wait in the cash register line or something.

06-15-2004, 02:48 AM
Yeah, so would I. Hopefully they'll do that where I live, and instead of waiting in a long line, I can play Halo 2 while everyone else is waiting in line. Of course, Ishould get a body gaurd on the way home to I'm protected...

I pre-ordered it today (limited edition of course). Also, they had the limited edition box (for display) and I must say, it is the coolest box I have ever seen (or held), if the game is half as good as the box is then it is going to be awesome! ^_^

A lot of places have stopped taking pre-orders now. I know the GameStop in my area stopped several months ago after they hit over 200 reserves. If you want the game on launch day, you better reserve ASAP.

I just preodered it from Futureshop yesterday. Limited Edition
They said something about free halo figureins or something if you pre-order it. I was going to get it from EB games, but they offered no free gift, and the site only has a yankee version, making it hard to compare prices.
I think halo's costing us Canadians around $70. I probaly didn't really need to pre-order it considering PEI's tiny population (100,000) would of decreased demand.
