My dad recently sent me up 80 bucks to buy two games and I've already decided to get Spongebob Battle for Bikini because I want to try something new instead of buying the usual gory game. That cost forty so theres half of my money gone, does anyone know any other good platform games for under 50 bucks?

Voodoo Vince - check out my review for details. Good game, lots of fun, no gore. I liked Oddworld, too, but I know some folks didn't. The cool thing is that they are both $19.99, so with $50, you could get both!

Morrowind: 19$

Morrowind is great... but it's not really a platformer. I wouldn't even call it adventure - adventure games are games like Escape from Monkey Island, Broken Sword, etc. Morrowind's a hardcore D&D-based RPG. Getting into it can be extremely slow, just to warn you. If you buy it, though, you'll still have $30 to buy something else, and you'd have a heckuva game.

Rented Morrowind, not my kind of RPG. Im thinking on getting blinx the time sweeper, it looks interesting.

Blaaaaarrrrrgggggg!!!! It drives me so crazy when you say "I have 80 bucks what two games should i buy?"
That would just barely cover one game here!

I was going to suggest ninja giadan but thats gory so i can't think of anything to suggest at the moment because i don't know what you have.

Do not get Blinx or Oddworld, they aren't very good. Though Oddworld is just mediocre, Blinx is actually awful. Haven't played Voodoo Vince so I can't say. In the realm of adventure rather than platforming, I'd highly recommend Beyond Good & Evil, it is absolutely fantastic. Otherwise, multiconsole titles like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Vexx might be good choices. All of the games mentioned here should be dirt cheap $20-30.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is currently my favorite Xbox platformer.
I didn't like Blinx...

Hey, why don't you try renting the game before you buy it? Just to be sure you're not wasting your money. Additionally most of the games listed here can be beaten in a 1 week rental.

Well I played spongebob, it was fun and im thinking on getting beyond good and evil, it looks like its a kick ass game. Meh, Crimson Skies is not my type of game.

Beyond Good or Evil is a good one too...but I'd go with Prince of Persia, looks more my taste.

Beyond Good and Evil is a better game than Prince of Persia, more diverse gameplay, better story. However, both are quite cheap now so perhaps you can get both?

Shouldn't you change the title of this thread to: "Which crappy game should I get?"

I mean, Spongebob and Vodoo Vince? Jeez...

Spongebob is for my niece and Prince of Persia is of course for me, neither one of them is "crappy" in any way.

Link, any game doesn't have Zelda or Mario in the title sucks in your eyes. It's a good thing the real Link didn't have blinders on and tunnel vision like you - Ganon have killed him.

I don't know Tucker...Voodoo Vince and Spongebob are really pushing it with regards to labeling them as "good." They probably aren't bad but having played the demo off Voodoo Vince at least I got the feeling of inherent mediocrity. On the other hand, if he had explicitly insulted Beyond Good & Evil he (poster Link) would be no more ;)

lol - true!

I actually played all the way through Voodoo Vince and really liked it - it's creative, and IMHO is a pretty true platformer. That is, the combat's there, but not the hard part. The jumping and puzzles are the heart of the game. Some of the voodoo powers are hilarious - the 1930s mob hit, the giant foot... heck, even the one with the outhouse. (Plug alert) I wrote a review of it for XBE - check it out for more details.

As for Spongebob... I couldn't say from experience. I read one review where the guy loved it so much he named his firstborn Spongebob, and another that said it was just OK.
