How long does it take to build a computer?

WolfmanNCSU
03-29-2004, 04:58 PM
Not too long. You will want to take your time and make sure you have it all right. Just a lot of little screws and jumpers and plugs. Nothing too teddious. Plus documentation that comes with parts are always very good at labeling etc.

The software loading it what is going to take the longest.

Do i put the mobo inside the case or put the parts in the mobo and place them in the case?

WolfmanNCSU

Mobo goes into the case. You will want to put in the power supply first into the case, then the mobo, then just about everything else.

The mobo and case should both have documentation on how they connect. When installing a mobo, I know some people like to use paper washers. I dont use them, but others thing they are super important.

I ll be unscrewing/unintalling this mobo. I just need the HD, dvd/cd combo, powersupply and floppy drive to stay.

I dont think you will have any probs with it. If you run into questions, throw them up in here, I can help you out or maybe even some other members here. Looks like there are a good number of us that have built there own PCs.

I install everything. I couldn't get the heatsink fan to work and ran with on top but not fully in twice but it shut down like in 1 second. So i install the heatsink properly but can't seem to start it up again. I disconnected everything and now i don't think there a signal going from pushing the power button on my computer case to the mobo. I dunno what to do now...

WolfmanNCSU

JasonXE
03-30-2004, 09:49 PM
sometimes it a blue screen when i start loading saying boot device blah blah blah. and sometimes its about check for virus and all that crap. If it doesn't say that then it doesn't load totally. I also tried safe mode and no go. I got to figure out something...
