The document confirms that the system will have an ARM 7 and an ARM 9 processor, the ARM 7 running at 33 mhz (the GBA's ARM 7 runs at 16.8 mhz) and the ARM 9 running at 67 mhz. The unit will feature four megabytes of system RAM, as well as 32K of processor RAM for both ARM 7 and ARM 9, and 656K of VRAM. Development sources have informed us that along with aiding in Project Nitro-native games, the ARM 7 will also be used for Game Boy Advance compatibility.

Both screens will be higher resolution than the GBA, 256x192 pixels compared to the current 240x160 resolution of the Game Boy Advance, and at least one of the screens will be touch sensitive. The unit will focus on 3D, with the ability to push as many as 120,000 polygons a second. The system's 2D abilities are comparable to the GBA, four scrolling backgrounds with 128 on-screen objects.

For control inputs, the system will feature the same button configuration as the Game Boy Advance system: D-pad, A and B buttons, L and R shoulder buttons. Nintendo is still considering additional X and Y buttons, which is why the documents list these buttons as To Be Determined.

The Project Nitro will also feature 802.11-style wireless connectivity according to the document, with some development sources stating that the system can link up to 16 systems using this wireless technology.

It's been previously revealed that the system's currently set for a Fall release, with a debut planned at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this May.

you think they could do better than that my TT-86 can be overclocked faster and it has memory to save games just not teh graphics lol.

So in other words Kenshin, they ARE doing better than your TT-86. Processor speed means quite little really.

The more I hear about the actuality of the DS, it seems like a much more viable product to compete with the PSP and less like the Virtual Boy's second coming like some people whined about.

Virtual Boy! I have one and most of the games that were released in the US. It was actually kind of cool... but there are a million good reasons why it failed. Glad I got mine for 20 bucks. :D

The Virtual Boy was innovative, it just wasn't perfected technically or very marketable.

Yeah, any "portable" gaming system that has to sit on a stand and takes 8 batteries is going to suffer. Also, it gave many people headaches. It did have one cool feature I think more games/systems should have, though. It would let you set an interval, and after you'd played that long, it said "take a break" on the screen and paused your game. It usually waited until a good time, though, like when the current tennis match was over or something.
