Mech Assult download!

Theres two new game modes and three new maps to download but it will cost you about $7.

The two new game modes are check it and take it

Both are team based

With check it you try to capture five points on the map to win

Take it on the other hand i like a advanced capture the flag/ king of the hill. While i'm still figureing out the scoring system, it goes like this: If either team captures the opposing teams core the instantly win. But its not near as simple as capture the flag.

There are platforms through out the area when stepped on the team captures it and actavates 4 auto cannon turrents which can be destroyed but respawn quickly. It can be recaptured repeatly

There are walls surrounding the bases and a small town between the bases. To open most doors you must have a certian platform captured. The walls are very high, light mechs can't jump them with hoping on a building first. So you can see how team work can be used,( though it isn't used that often).

People usually have guarders and runners like in capture the flag but this mode, i think, is ten times more fun. Espicially since the maps are pretty big.

I don't get that about Xbox.. You pay a hefty subscription fee.. then you pay a fee on top of that for new content?

Less than $5.00 a month is not a hefty fee, cheapass.

Well, it depends on the size mem card you use. I have an 8 mb card, which is fine for me, but there is also a 16 mb card and some unofficial larger ones than that.

seriously guys just go onto xlink or xbconnect they share all that crap all over it. If I still had an Xbox and still had XBL i'd get it off Xlink or XBConnect

Wow, is $5 realy that much to you guys? Lets see how long it takes before they spot giving us any DLC because of you guys cheating them out of their money.

personally i don't give a damn about DL content except patches. and if they stopped making patches no one would buy there game anyway because it would be so ****ing glitchy. The only reason i DL the ****ing content is because i have to to continue playing online.

If you dont care about DLC other than patches, why go to Xlink and DL the premium content?

Coldflare

When you buy a game you should get everything available for it, rather than make upgrades and charge, they should make a whole new game. That's how I feel about paying for additional content to something I've already paid.

COLDFLARE, the way I see it, DLC is there to fill in gaps that EVERY game has. No game is perfect, every single one of them out there needs something "extra". That's what dlc is for, in theory.
Another thought. For them to add everything they had for dlc in MA, the game would still be in development, simply because they realeased the dlc based on what the current comunity wanted and needed. They CANT add all that in DURING the development, because they would have had no feedback to develop it off of.

COLDFLARE, IT'S COLDFLARE! NOT COLDFIRE OR ColdFlare IT'S JUST *sob* Cold.. *sniffle* f.. *sob* flare... (so many people get my name confused and it's... :'(

i was just stating an alternative for people who don't want to be ripped off by Microsoft. Speaking of which I found a VG Cats comic that greatly applies to this topic.

Well downloading the content for $7 seems dumb to me, unless you truly love the game. I see both sides to this story -- why put a game on the market if you're not finished with it? Then again, you ARE getting bonus crap that you didn't think you'd have when you bought the disc....

I wouldn't mind if they did that with TFLO.. released an incomplete game, and periodically gave out free patches to update.

Monk
02-21-2004, 05:11 PM
You call a game incomplete because it support dlc?
What if Halo supported dlc? Would you call that incomplete?

Coldflare
02-21-2004, 08:38 PM
A game is not incomplete if the singleplayer is finished. :D
However.. *stares* 1 + 3 = pie..

Monk
02-22-2004, 02:50 AM
Hmm......TFLO doesnt have a single player mode. :)

Coldflare

That's beyond the point.. it doesn't really matter for a MMORPG.. After beta testing RO since A2 I've come to get used to a plotless MMORPG, or very light one anyway.

Monk
02-22-2004, 06:12 PM
It's not beyond that point. You said "A game is not incomplete if the singleplayer is finished". You said nothing about excluding MMORPGs.

*sigh* mabey I should stop reading into peoples posts. I'm making enemies already :(

I would call Halo an incomplete game seeing as how they had to cancel a bunch of stuff just so it could hit its release date, like the flamethrower

Monk

Good point Kenshin, but wouldnt a "complete" game be a game that has everything required to be a good product? I'm pretty positive every game in existance could have had something extra. That doesnt make them any less "complete".
