I'm picking up this game tonight and I can't wait to play it. I played a demo of it and it was amazing. The new kudos system is a lot better (imo) and the graphics are even nicer. There are a ton of levels with even better detail then last time. I don't know about online play but I hear great things. Let's talk about PGR2 here!

Tell us how the game is once you play through it. I was considering getting it since I need some new Xbox Live games (I havent been on XBL in months:( ).

It is amazing, most definetly worth the :10bux:x5. I don't feel like writing a review for it, too busy playing it :p . Maybe I'll write up something during Thanksgiving break.

I have PGR and Metropolis Street Racing (the DC game before PGR) and I can say without a doubt that the kudos system is far better in PGR than in MSR - what kind of improvements did they make to it for PGR2?

After playing PGR2 for quite a bit on and offline, in different modes I can say this is the kind of game you could put down and not really worry about it unless you like looking at the stats off of Xbox Live, and you are a stats whore. A lot of the objectives in the game are waay to hard for beginners so it basically singles out newcomers to the game.

Also it could just be me but it feels like with most of your cars, the wheels are screwing ice (literally) as you will spin out of contorl or screw up for NO reason, or because of some draft? Definately if your used to playing well crafted games like Gran Tursimo, PGR is not for you at all.

The sound in the game is fairly well done but most of the music I could do without. It is interesting that they have DJs to go with the appropiate locales though. The car sound is mostly basic, your not going to hear anything you haven't before.

Graphically PGR2 is fantastically crip, with the best looking car models, and environments I think we will ever see in this generation of gaming consoles. One thing that bothered me though is-- where is all the life in these cities? Granted your probably not going to want to pay attention to them, but if they can create indiviual bricks in a road or house in Moscow, why not have a few people walking around on the side or watching the race? Like with DDR Ultramix, I am working on a review for this as well. Expect full explanations soon but at this point I give the game a 7/10.

I've only played the demo, but I have to agree with John - the cars feel like they're on ice. The graphics are really nice, but that's not the first time I've seen a complaint about how empty the cities feel. Even when they do the flyby at the beginning of the level, there's nothing and no one around. I have to say that I like the way the cars get banged up as I crash them around the track. :)

The thing is even if you get banged up your car's speed or handling isn't affected. If it were, this would make for very interesting online play, and a lot more strategy.

True, dat. I have to think that if the car got as banged up as it does when I play, it would definitely affect handling in real life.

I am starting to rethink my opinions about the game, but it still stands as overrated. I have played against Fijimunkii on the game though he is pretty good, way better than me.
