The original Star Wars trilogy, then closely followed by LOTR.

I used to like LOTR better, but then I watched the Star Wars trilogy and thought "Hell no."

If we were talking about the LOTR books then that would come before the starwars trilogy but seeing its not my vote goes to Star Wars

I love both...
Yet I lean toward star wars. It's been around alot longer (In movie form).
When I saw that Duel of Fates scene in star wars... I got hooked (For those of you that dont know it's the Darth Maul lightsaber battle). Not that the older movies sucked, but they were lacking a little (I thought) in the acting. But really it doesnt matter how bad the acting is if you have a great story... and well Lucas had a great story that made Star Wars sweet. The Idea of the force, A dark and light side, the struggle between father and son.
And I always think about that first line...

Isn't Star Wars a series of six movies spread out over a long (and I mean long) period of time? Then again until the sixth one actually comes out I guess it's still a quintology.
….Unless, of course, you found Episodes I and II to be so frightfully terrible that you refuse to recognize their existence (I've heard this from many Star Wars fans).

Hmmm... I have to say that I liked LOTR more than Star Wars. I'm a big fan of the Back to the Future trilogy and the Indiana Jones movies, too, but LOTR beats them, too.

Ah yes, Back 2 the Future. Good choice. I also loved LotR, but I will have to say I think Star Wars is still the best Trilogy.

Star Wars is the best, LOTR tried to hard. It was still good though, pretty damned good.
