Hall and Oates, Tears for Fears, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, Mr. T Expeirince, Screaching Weezels, Wham, The Cure, Bad Religion, and several more, I have crazy taste in music
I listen to a lot of older music, but I really like a little bit of everything. I'm not really into country, rap, or pop.

I like a lot of different kinds of music, but my favorite is always acapella stuff. I was a singer (job stops me now), so I really get impressed by what those people do with their voices. After that, '80s alternative music is my next favorite. BTW - if you have a PS2, Amplitude is a great music game. OK, even if you don't have one, it's still a great game... you just won't be able to play it.

I like most rock and blues, some jazz and reggae and the very occasional rap song. I can't stand country, newage punk, emo, most rap or any ultra-generic bands. I have the most respect for groups that can cover a full spectrum of music, from heavy-ass metal to acoustic melodies backed by a full orchestra. Groups where every one of their songs sounds the same just don't do it for me.

I like listening to Rock and Metal. Bands such as Metallica, LP, Korn, Slipknot, Hatebreed, and Mudvayne. I sometimes listen to Country music, but only once in a while. I can't stand Hip-Hop, they are running out of things to rap about. You can only rap about money and cars for so long until it gets boring. I like old rap from Dr. Dre and 2Pac. I also think that the Trick Daddy is another descent rapper. That's pretty much what i listen to.

I like a lot of different music, but UNDERGROUND is where it is at. More passion, drive, and determination from people in the Underground where as to mainstream the money gets to their head and they just spit out crap to get another paycheck. Yet, there are a lot of bands who are mainstream that actually do care and those i appreciate. I like some mainstream don't get me wrong.... but i like underground music better of most genre's.

"Calling Nirvana a punk band is like saying Blink-182 are carrying the punk torch and everyone is proud of them for it. Nirvana isn't punk, Blink-182 isn't punk. Grunge was a genre that consisted of Peal Jam (not punk), Mudhoney (not punk), Soundgarden (not punk)and many more overrated bands. Sure Nirvana was influenced by punk but so is Chuck D of Public Enemy. The bands on this tribute are punk rock at it's finest. Bands like Flipper, D.O.A., Agent Orange, The Vibrators and the late great Dee Dee Ramone have been around since the 70's (btw...someone bashed them and called them all brittish, only Flipper and The Vibrators were from England). Newer punk bands like Blanks 77, who are no longer together and Total Chaos, who finally have came our of their hibernation of touring and are on this years Warped tour are sticking to the roots of punk rock. Nirvana has never sounded better and my advice would be to buy this album and forget about the original Nirvana albums."
Second thing that showed up in Google when I typed: "Nirvana punk"

08-07-2004, 03:14 PM
 haha, who said that? I am not disputing that Nirvana was grunge, ALL I am saying is that Bleach was punk, I don't see how anyone could listen to songs like "School" and "Negative Creep" and not call them punk. And therefore saying that you don't like punk, but that you like Nirvana (who's first album was Punk), is an oxymoron

I never said I liked Nirvana. To be honest, I HATE Nirvana. Probably the most overrated band of all time. Nirvana's fashion and lifestyle is punk, however their music is grunge. The same way that people see "emo" bands.

Here's is a link to the Machine Shop which is located in Flint, Michigan...
THE MACHINE SHOP (http://www.themachineshop.info/index.php)
It's a bar/concert hall, it's small (about 350 people is a sold out show), but it's up close and I wish alot of bigger bands would take a look in the mirror as korn would say and realize that smaller venues are the way to get in touch with their real fans.
I know SJR, Nonpoint, Flaw and Shinedown are coming up soon, so you might want to check out the website for the dates ^^

Emery, Dead Poetic, Kutless, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Jonah33, Spoken, Anberlin, Justifide, 12 Stones, East West, The Benjamin Gate, Falling Up, Fighting Jacks, Big Dismal, Dakona, and Seventh Day Slumber are all great bands that could do something in the industry that you would end up hearing them on the radio and loving them.
All their websites have their music on it.
