These guilds are a theory so dont jump to conclusions... It might be simple to where you can just pick your job at character creation.
With that said....
GUILDS are the places you go to learn, so you are qualified to do the Job.
It's just like college you have to learn before you get the career.
It is thought that you can only have one career choice, which makes sence because everyone would learn all the stuff and do any job they wanted to do and a certain time.
Each Career pathway is thought to have 5 or so jobs that make you available for similar jobs under the pathway.
(OK now I'm getting confused one second....)
Oh right.... here are pathways we think are in the game...
Warrior - Covers being a professional brute. AKA Guard, knight whatever.
Magic - Covers being a professional mage.
Culinary - Relating to food... Cook is the big one, maybe bartender?
Hygiene - Barber... I said dentist before and everyone went nuts... remeber these are guesses.
Animal Care - Stable boy
Harvesting - Miner, Lumberjack, Fishermen
Business - big one here is Shopkeeper
Manufactureing - the makeing of items from elements you have abtained... Smith is the popular one here.
Entertainment - Exotic Stripper(Ok maybe there wont be strippers), Singer
Theif - Professional Theif
--------------------------
Now dont These mixed up there is a difference between being a cook/warrior and a professional warrior sure I dont know the differences, but hope that clears things up alittle bit.
Maybe when your a Professional soldier, you can teach at the soldier guild I dont know. Everytime I talk about this guild stuff I think about Star Wars when Yoda (The Master/Professional Jedi) is teaching the kids. (The Average Guy... The Cook who needs to know how to battle sometimes.)
PS CAN ANYONE SEE THAT TFLO GIF IMAGE IN MY SIG?

how can you be three thing if you are three things then you will not be very strong in those places

Your getting confused... If you pick a Profession as in Culinary, Harvesting, Etc (what I listed above) then you will have 5 or so jobs you can choose from within that profession... so when your Harvesting you can do jobs such as lumberjack,Miner and whatever else they put into the game.
When he said he wants to be a stripper (which isn't known to be in the game, I made that up) and a singer, it will still only be considered 1 profession because they are both under the entertainment profession.
------------
As for the Professional Warrior / Mage / Theif things I'm not sure how that works... like I thought maybe once you get so strong you can go work as a teacher in the Guild buildings or maybe you'll be like a bounty hunter getting hired to look for people.

yes, that's more or less correct. And Lavis, yes we can see the TFLO gif in ur sig. As for the stripper, go right ahead, I don't think that'll bother us TOO much.

I wonder can a person who is a witch still cook, i'm sure but not as good a a chef. I will have a witch character for my main character, and then an entertaiment one, then a hygiene one, then perhaps a cook.

Well you guys are kind of getting it...
YOU MUST PICK A
Profession
Race
Class
But see you can have Profession and Class Have very similar traits.
Just because your not a Professional Wizard doesnt mean you'll be any weaker it just means you'll have another job that doesnt relate to your Class thats all. Likewise if you switch them... Just because your a awsome cook doesnt mean you'll be a crappy Warrior.
