Ripped GIF's

Well Today I attempted to rip the TFLO Title creation from a MPEG from gametrailers and turn it into a GIF File and host it here... Obviously it isnt working... and I wish I knew why but here's my junk site I made in 2 seconds so I could host it...

Oh yeah whoever wanted that chef GIF I threw it in there to... GOOD LUCK getting it to work here I think it has to do with freewebs...

Yeah, I know it works now... Signed up with a Image host so now when I customize an image I can use it to hotlink the pictures for places that dont allow you to grab it from your hardrive.

It's nice too because you can choose if you want others to see your pic or not.

And well it's free.

Go here they have many different Image Hosts... I was useing Gazler, but the site shuts down after he gets 250,000 hits a day so I will most likely look for another one also.

Has a big list of image hosts and reviews... make sure you read the info on the site. Some of them places arent free so be weary of that.

I ripped it from a trailer... plus to do that I would have to change 25 pictures.

My Gif program is very basic so I would have to tweak it in photoshop...so I'll pass. If I ever do get around to that though I most likely kill the Copywright at the bottom to.

Plus I'm fairly new to photoshop I've just started takeing the time to learn about it.

Well I took the time to tweak my signature alittle... I deleted the Copywright of Microsoft and while doing that I noticed the backround wasnt pure black so I went thru and tweaked that also. To me it looks much sharper now, but maybe thats just because I saw it slide per slide.

Was thinking about later inserting more slides of gif's I made after that title goes off.

here they are but I still need to tweak them to make them look sharper.

It causes my other post to be big in file size because it is almost 2 MB's... 56kers look away unless you have time to wait.

To host it on the internet I use a image host.

I never have any luck making gifs - don't know why. I'm using Fireworks to do it. My sig was supposed to be a gif, but I couldn't get it to animate.

LavisBlade, what program do you use?

I mainly use Jasc Animation 2.02. If you dont know what that is it's a mini program that comes with Paint Shop Pro 6.

If I have a long Mpeg file and most of the stuff I'm not going to use I cut Out all the extra crap with HT Video Editior 6.0 (The trail version hehe, let me know if you find a free mpeg editor by the way.)

Makeing one from scratch would take a really long time though.

Yea the gifs look awesome Lavis, how do you take mini clips from the trailer?

Well you first need a clip mpeg or avi obviously. I still need to find a program thats free, in which you are able to customize a clip... I was useing HT Mpeg Editor it was the easiest and the hishest quality clip editor I could find. The demo ran out in 15 days and it's not that I'm cheap or anything, but I seriously dont find myself paying 60$ for a editor that ill use maybe only a few times a month.

Now back to what your asking after you cut all of the stuff out of the clip you dont need and adjust the quality (So the file size isnt huge) you save it as a AVI file. The reason for this is because most Gif editors dont allow Mpeg files to be opened. Now once in the Gif program you could add stuff like banners, titles, and more importantly you can optimized which goes on from changeing the amount of frames to the size and the speed.

Save it as a gif and your done.

If you want to customized the gif even more you can use animation editor on paint shop pro which can get very complex and I still dont know all of the things I can do.

Right now I'm going to put all the Gif's on my site, since the image host has problems sometimes so you can see them there if they all dont show up here... (The site is very basic hehe) On another note You will not be able to host these images from the site it will not hotlink.

As some of you know I've been looking for a Mpeg editor for awhile and I stumbled acrossed a program called Adobe Premiere, which is like a editor on crack. I dont know what 75% of the functions can do, but I really enjoy editing on it.

Ofcourse though I didnt buy this program because frankly it's over $400's, I downloaded a cracked version. Does anyone else use this product and could give me some tips on it or could point me to a good online tutorial?
