Maybe this is another Anti-Hacking idea?

Since Everyong knows you can load linux onto a xbox and search through the hardrive with all the saved files... which leads to hacks of course.

How is that anti-hacking? If anything it would be 10 times worse! Action Replays can manipulate data stored on Xbox memory cards! You could do anything!
I still think all information will be stored on the servers. That's the best way to stop the majority of cheating/hacking.

Well I will get my uncle to help me out in that area.

Well I dont know I'd like to see where he heard of this though.

Maybe its some sort of multi xbox thing, so you can take tflo to your friends house and play there on one xbox.

lol, it wouldnt be for haking purposes, they just didnt think about that decision. People can hack a mem card ez'er than an xbox. All you have to do is do the xbox control hack, to connect to a pc. and get the "RIGHT" drivers for it to read the mem card. And also a "CERTAIN" progam to edit the files. thats ez'er than modin a box to hack. Trust me iv had exp.

If they have the saves on a memory card, it will end up like Phantasy Star Online.

Actually it can be a combination of these two.

In the server they save a checksum of your save file and then they save the game to your card.

Now when you next time log in, it'll get that checksum and test it against a checksum that was calculated from the file in the card during the login and if they don't match, the save on the memory card has been modified.

Well, you can still hack the save so that its checksum is still the same, but that should be extremely difficult. Also when you incorporate file protection via encryption into this hacking can get quite hard.

so are we safe from hackers? They can't use action replay then?

The action replay should be extremely flexible if it was able to crack that method I mentioned above.

But, to tell you the truth - the only way to prevent a casual gamer from hacking TFLO saves, is that some of the data must be saved in the server or to use some extremely difficult encryption algorithms.

Hacking is always possible it's never 100% bulletproof.

But I still don't get it why the save uses memory cards...

Of course TFLO doesn't need a memory card! that would be very stupid. One of the advantages of the xbox is that it has a huge hard-drive. I think Level 5 will use all features of the xbox, so they'll also use the hard-drive. Don't worry about this ;)

If they use the Xbox hardrive then that will allow AR users to have all the fun of the fair! Servers will be used to store info.

AR will not work for TFLO. You can only use AR Offline... thats why PSO has hacks becuase it has a single player TFLO doesnt.

Action Replays manipulate save files on your hardrive. You don't have to be in a game offline to manipulate it's save file.

True, but Ar wont get past the server when they try to log on so no worries :D.

As long as there is information on your character stored on the servers also.
Anyway memory cards won't be used at all, that information is almost definitely wrong. All info will be stored on the servers.

yes+ they will use servers because there is no guarantee that you wont be able to change and or manipluate the saved files on a memory card also since your character will continue changing that means that they will have to keep your information updated constantly.

Another thign what if by chance your memory card stops functioning properly well there goes all your hard earned items etc. so it would be a really bad idea to do this and I'm 99.9999% sure that they will keep it on a database server that you connect to when you log in to TFLO

Ew, i hope not.
I bet a memory card would make gaming slower or whatever.
Use the big ass hard-drive :(
