I do. Has anybody else played the demo for The Suffering? I turned it off. I haven't played it enough to base any real decision on this game, but it might be scarier than the Silent Hill series. I think of Silent Hill as more of an utterly creepy, chill you to the core kind of game anyway. What do you all think?

hey ian, way to be wrong... WAY wrong, i played through the demo of the suffering, and yeah, it was scary, pretty darn scary at times, but no where near the shear horror that is Silent Hill 2. Plus, you never really played SH2, but when i played through it, i had to turn it off several times because i am a pansy and had to wait a little while to get back some curage to play it agian... I am serious, it gave me nightmares, and a fear of fog, as well as the dark. Trust me, SH is about 3-5x scarier than the Suffering seems to be from the bemo. However i think it is cool how in the suffering your outcomes effect the ending, and that isnt done in most horror games, and SH does it awsell, and from what i hear, in the Suffering there are only 3 different ending, but as i recal, in SH there are about 5 or so.

McBizzel someone should bitch slap you. Silent Hill is as scary as it gets my friend. SH2 has scared me more than any horror movie-most horror movies make me laugh (I find senseless violence hilarious) but Silent Hill 2 is ultra ****ed up.

You are forgiven...can't wait for Silent Hill 4 coming to Xbox! Wish they would bring 3 to Xbox.

I played some more of that demo, and it seems like all it is, is a copy of Silent hill mixed with the insanity deal from Eternal Darkness and the Dark Jack effect from Jack and Daxter 2. It seems like it's not the slightest bit original, but it still looks fun and scary.

In the suffering you are heavly armed. While in silent hill you are using a board and a nail for awhile. Thats one of the things that make it more scary, you aren't heavly armed. But the monsters aren't fast moving.

Silent hill's atmosphere what makes it the most scary. And a really messed up story line. I just rented it, i made it to the prison area with some cube puzzle. But that women saying stop it daddy to a door monster is messed up enough for me.

I still don't understand how games can scare people.

its the same way a movie can. personally I have run across any movies or games that really scared me. The only one that came close was the remake of House on Haunted hill which wasn't really all that scare as it was distrubing with the dimemberment and ****. It goes to show you even a Psychopath can be creeped out by enough massacer.

You should see Redneck Zombies, quite possibly the scarriest horror film ever made.
