"Ninja Gaiden is on the cutting-edge of action. Take on the role of powerful ninja Ryu Hayabusa, who seeks revenge after his clan is massacred by the Vigor Empire.

Taking full advantage of three-dimensional space, advance through the story with only your wits, your ninja skills, and your deadly sword—cutting down opponents in the Vigor Empire as you attempt to beat the Holy Emperor and reclaim the magic sword Ryuken."

Xbox Live compatible: Tecmo's Team Ninja development group has created a revolutionary new Xbox Live-compatible feature within Ninja Gaiden. This radical new feature is being
developed specifically for Ninja Gaiden and is like nothing any gamer has experienced in action games before.
Increased skills and new weapons: As you progress through the game, your skills increase, and you'll be rewarded with new weapons to help fight opponents. The more competent you become in fighting enemies, the stronger you'll become, which unlocks new combinations and skills. Wit and skill are also rewarded. The decisions you make in the game affect the weapons and skills you can acquire.
Amazing visual effects: Witness an amazing level of detail, as you take on opponents in a variety of environments. Hear swords slicing through the air. Jump out of the way as gouts of blood pulse out from vanquished enemies. Beautifully rendered graphics, amazing visual effects, and realistic combat take Ninja Gaiden to a whole new level.
Many challenging levels: Your ninja skills will be put to the ultimate test as you battle through various levels in your mission to avenge your clan.
Continual gameplay: Once you embark on your role as a ninja hero, you never have to stop the journey. The Xbox allows you to quit the game at any time and re-start at the very same point.

This game looks "amazing" I'll be buying this game hopefully the day it comes out. :)

I’m renting this one first, to find out if it’s good on Live, if it is then I’ll buy it.
It just better not be another Shinobi, Otogi, etc, etc…

Good online features seem to be the major selling point of games for me since Xbox Live came out.

Ninja Gaiden is the reaosn Team Ninja was created back in 1995, before some of the team on Team Ninja were involved with many Tecmo games including of course Ninja Gaiden games.

Ninja Gaiden's ideas for the 128-bit generation have been forming since 1998, the game was first to come to Dreamcast and now it will finally come to Xbox. I can definately see this becoming the best selling Xbox game in Japan, beating the combined sales of the 2 other best selling Xbox games in Japan (not surprinsgly) DOA3, and DOAXtreme Beach Volleyball.

A lot of Ninja Gaiden fans have been waiting for a decade....to see a new Ninja Gaiden game to be released.

I've been anticipating this game ever since I heard about it, yep, the first blip about this game....I've been reading rumors, and speculation ever since.

The more screenshots I see, the more I wanted the game. Now seeing the video in a kiosk at Gamestop.....I was sold.

This is the ONLY reason why I will be buying Xbox. :mc:

You have to be kidding me. There are about 230 reasons (Probably) more to have an Xbox. Besides that if you want to truely enjoy Ninja Gaiden you have to get Xbox Live...so that you can play the online features :D

Well, I hope you guys are willing to wait, cause I just got an e-mail from EBgames saying that the release date as been pushed to Febuary 10th, although OXM says it will be on December 15th. I just hope that OXM is right, cause I really want to play it.

That OXM was probably written a month ago, then published this month. EBGames is right my friend, I am sorry.

PLease dont always refer to XOM for official announcments even though its an official magazine. Outside sources are just as good if not better then official sources.

Yes the date has been pushed to Feb 2004 due to Xbox LIVE features and camera angles that need polishing.

I for one cant wait to exp. the thrill of playing as my favorite male ninja (even though I love female Ninjas the most) of all time. I wont be able to do Xbox Live due to internet connection. I will have a blast playing the game though and re-living the SNES times on my soon to get Xbox.

Anyone have a approx. idea of how long Ninja Gaiden will be as in how long it will take to beat the game?

It's hard to tell, since there are many screenshots and a couple of videos, but you'll surely have many hours of fun.
