well, judgin from the map(which is on the japanese official site..)i'd also want to be in Cleria, cause it is in the northwest ish corner near the mountains, and forest, so thats where im gonna start(and also because they have a p v p arena =P)

For me its a toss up between Cleria and Belcantus...

I voted Belcantus just because I'm pretty sure ill be a mage of some sort, but if i turn warrior I'll go Cleria.

Either way I doubt it will be a big choice... I mean once you get a animal to take you, you can probaly get to whatever town you want with ease.

They have to have some sort of apartments for visitors to stay in (just in case you have to actually sleep in this game to survive/stay strong).

I voted Cleria as it's just such a visually impressive place, I can't see me living anywhere else really. Obviously I may change my mind if I decide to go with a magic user however. Do you think it's possible to move house to another city/town if you like?

no, you cannot, from what ive read anyway, apparently if 2 of the cities are in different countries, and go to war, you might not even be aloud in that city...and ive also read that the town you choose is your hometownish place, you can only live there, im pretty sure you can like stay at an inn in another town or something, but im not sure, anyway, thats my opinion.

if i decide to be one of the horseman than i will go to claria but i think i am more partial to belcantus. + can you be in the horsemans cort thing if you ride a dragon broom or camel (just a thought)

I chose Belcantus because of a couple reasons,
1) I like the way it looks, it looks cool
2) I will probably use some magic
3) I am going to be a chef, and if my reasoning is correct, most chefs will go to cleria, being that is a huge capital with lots of people, so that would leave a huge market for the chefs (or hopefully, lack there of) in belcantus, and that means lots of money for me!:D

I dont think that Zeskal is going to be a very popular town... it looks like a slum town. The place were the bums and unemployed hang out.

Then when you compare it to the other 3 cities it doesnt seem to appealing at all.

ya...well its a mining town if you read the description, its based on production skills, mining, blacksmiths, etc...

it looks the way it looks cause of what it is, but personally, i agree, most people will go for cleria, or belcantus, i might go for dom perry though, it looks pretty nice, and it dosent seem to far from cleria....but i dont know how big the actual place is though....speaking of which, anyone know how big the actual map is?

Well lets think here morrowind's map looks very close to this one.

There are 4 main towns (there are more then just 4 towns) but you start in one of them towns.

My guess is it's 1 1/2x as big as the morrowind map.

Just because they allow so many people in it at once.


And while i was looking at the map i noticed a really big island i didn't notice the other times... its at the bottom left of the map and it appears that you have to get there by each one of them small islands, which would be a great journey ;)

I have a reasonable hunch which would be a good reason to live in Zeskal. You know the pic of that castle like place, with four pillars, and in the middle a chain attached to a small elevator/building? Well, I have a theory, my theory: The 'castle' is a castle... untill they go to war. You can see cannons on the four legs/pillars and when it's moving (this is only a hunch rememebr) the elevator/building will be brought into the main of the castle. So, do you think I'm a genious or insane?

I use to hate wars in the last game I played. It was one of the reasons i never joined a guild because if they did something wrong to another guild with the highest lvl's then war broke out all I wanted was to lvl in peace and quiet.

I was checking out a Japanese site and found a pick of that strange dark tower, there was some text so I translated it into this:
