View Full Version : No level up, so how will you get stronger?

As there's no level up structure for characters in this game, how do you think your characters will get stronger?
It may be due to the food you eat I suppose getting slightly stronger with every meal.
Or do you think it may be quest related; each time you successfully complete a quest you get stronger? Whatever way it will happen do you think that you will get bonus points to distribute to your character?
Any information on this subject would be appreciated.

I have no idea either, but that is really interesting. Of course there has to be some exp. system in the game or it would be rather pointless. Building up characters is what it's all about.
Like you said though, quest related exp. probably goes to your character and you can distribute points from there. We can only hope that they have a decent system.

you build up each of your skills than rather having a level. The good thing is that you don't exactly need to fight to gain experince.

you are suppose to skill up to eliminator exp sorta what jason said...

So basically for an example, do a lot of mining and you will get bonus strength points to aquire to your character?
I really like the idea of that, more realistic yet still keeps the point distribution aspect.

basically lets say you attack a creauture using a sword after a while that skill will increase that is how you "level up"
Im not sure about the mining thing but im 95% sure that it might be like that too...

If you mine then you are using your arm + body muscles. If you keep on doing it then you will eventually get bigger in body width and bigger arms, which increases your strength. The downside is that since you have so many muscles your agility will go down. Meaning your attack speed and movements will get slower. If you grow in one aspect of your skills then the other will drop. Now thats a experince system for yeah lol.

That style of XP is more in vogue these days - I think it was Fable of which I read "if you attack people with a frying pan enough, you'll eventually become a grand-master frying pan fighter." Morrowind does the same type of thing.

I like this system more because then people, like in diablo or pso wont just do one area over and over and over just so u can level. In this case you can just go about your business and get points for it. It seems like a very even playing board to me.

yea espically since the skillz get balanced but i wonder if you really have to hit anything instead people could just take out a weapon and hit the air with that would suck if you could level like that

I bet its like Morrowind where it shows how many hits you have to go to level.
Only thing is you wont level :D

I HEARD!

that you have to go back to your house and you are revived.
I HEARD!
but this is a huge rumor, guess, theory whatever.
Also i heard that after enemies within a area of your body are killed you are revived
But i will go surf the internet for answers to this.... I'm really board right now so this will give me something to do lol
I have my own little guesses to.

as far as i could tell in that video, there are no enemies around when the guy is a ghost, so....it probly is go back to somewhere in town. well, thats wut i think anyway, and yes, i too remember reading about having to go back to your house to be revived

Thats why i said *I HEARD* not *I'M GUESSING* lol
If you want my 3 cents my guess is there is a timelimit to when your revived automaticatly
thats my big fat guess though :P

lavis you confuse the hell out of me with those guess's but that kinda sucks the house revival because if u die and are far frar from ur house then you have to go back and get revived there im also thing there is a time limit

WAIT I HAVE MOREEEE! lmao
Maybe its like PSO and you need a magic caster / item to revive a guy.
WAIT!
Maybe you hover over your body and the ghost flies back in!
WAIT!
Maybe you can go into a enemies body and control him useing his life to revive your own! Then the enemy Explodes just like on the mortal kombat brutality's! woohoo!
PS I think i nailed it with that last one i just have a good feeling about it
:)

Nah - most stuff like that require you to actually hit something that you can kill. Hitting the air or a tree wouldn't do it.

heh, that came alittle after we left that topic and got alittle off, lol, but ya, hitting air or a tree probly wouldnt do it
