Now I know that Microsoft have plans for 3000 gamers to be on each server but how are they going to do it and keep everyone happy? By this I mean how are they going to guarantee you get on the same server as all your friends list? I'm a little worried as I don't want to be stuck on a completely different server where I can't see any of my mates! :(
I was thinking about that earlier. I'm hoping you get an option and that you can switch later. Really I'm clueless though.

Is it possible to assign different characters that you create to different servers? Basically do all the 5 of the characters you create have to be on the same server? I suppose if you can go to different servers with different characters that could be a way of finding the right server for you.
I wonder if Microsoft will be splitting countries as well as servers? Japan, USA and Europe all with their own set of servers perhaps? Just like with PSO on Xbox.

i think they would probably have a list of servers which you can join, that way you can just meet your friends in a certain server. If they do it the FF XI way, that would suck, cause it randomly selects a server for you =/

Once you join a server with a particular character that's the onlt server you can play on as it's meant to represent an online living world, so when events happen they happen in your world and no other world/server, every world will be different and when you think about it that way you only want to play on one server.

If that's the case then you want to orgazine all your friends ahead of time for a server in which you will on play on. Even if I wasen't able to play with my friends there is always other people to get-to-know.

Easier to say though. I just have to make sure servers don't fill up before my friends are able to get on. That would suck. :(

ya, it shouldnt be that hard, just arrange ahead of time, before the game comes out (or right after one of u checks to see how it works)a good example of this is Priston Tale, which u guys probly havent heard of, but there are 2 main servers in this game, KZEE and Lunar, ur characters are only on one of the 2, not both.

Most MMORPGs allow you to select the server you want when you make your character. That makes it easy to play on the same server with your friends. You probably will be able to have all 5 of your characters on different servers - but why would you - with all 5 characters on 1 server you can make TWINKS ! ( Use your older more powerful character to give gold/equipment to your new character to get a head start in the world )

lol but thats no fun makeing one guy from scratch then giveing them items for a different race/class guy.
Plus how would that work you'd have to get a friend to run out in the forest in the middle of no mans land where not one of the 3000 people playing can find him then you have to make the new guy and run into the forest hopeing noone has followed you and hopeing its the right area...
I guess you could give him the items to hold ether way its a cheap way to get good... then when everyone does it is no fun.

Well I hope they make a smart move when they bring the servers into play, they don't start off with 20 like SWG, the palyer base is too split up into servers when that happens and you rarely find anyone to play with. They should start out with about 5 servers and branch from there.
Yea, a select number of servers is the way to go. They also need specialty servers like an always PvP and a RP server.

Well you all have to realize that it will be a month or two before the servers start to fill up.I mean you are talking about 3000 people a server that isnt as few as you think.
