I need a new hub so I can play Halo with up to 4 consoles and 16 players. My current one, a lynksys, was only able to handle 3 consoles last time. Whenever we tried 4, the connection was weak and would end up dropping one of the systems halfway through games.
I have heard of and seen the hub made specifically for the Xbox, $40 at Gamestop and Ebworld I believe, but I have seen it at for $25 at my local CompUSA. The question is, does it actually work? If not, I'd rather spend my money on a working hub. I was thinking maybe something by D-Link. Any help would be greatly apprieciated as I am going to be at a Halo LAN party Friday and I happen to be the one bring the hub w/ethernet cords.

I did it once with a LinkSys switch, but now I just use my Netgear Router.

I got this nice GameSter router that I use. It's supposed to be for use with XBOX but I made a LAN with my laptop and my desktop.

Well I actually have a Linksys but it craps out whenever we hook over 4 systems up to it. It will only handle 3 which is why I need to find one thats guarenteed to work with 4.

D-Link is the best one to go with, it is even endorsed with Xbox, and goes for $30-50.

I own a LinkSys AND a D-Link, they both work great. I have yet to encounter problems with it. They are both good purchases, but I bought LinkSys when I had 1 Xbox and D-Link when I needed wireless for 2 Xbox's.

I think Im gonna be buying some new Belkin Ethernet cords along with a NetGear or Belkin router, depending on what I find and what price everything is at.

I actually ended up not buying a new hub and bought some new Cat6 Ethernet cords and now we aren't having any problems. It turned out the ethernet cords we were using were just too old and worn out to be used. Now Halo runs fine with 4 systems set-up. wOOt!
