Boy, you know how to take the fun out of stuff, eh, Steve? j/k - you have a point, but I have to say that what's frustrating me about them now is that they were not willing to be involved in the war against Iraq, but they were sure interested in having their say in the rebuilding process. To me, that's just not right. If you weren't willing to do your part in getting rid of the bad government, you shouldn't get to have a say in putting in a better one.

Notice that I have expressed no opinion on whether the war is good or bad - it's happened now and we have to deal with the consequences.

im not against the war in Iraq, im all for it, he had bad intentions and if he wasnt knocked off the throne, he would eventually act on his bad intentions...and im not saying that the French havent helped in the past...its just right now that i have grown to dislike their government fortheir policy in Iraq

funny how your all blinded by Bush's propaganda, saying how the french didnt support us in Iraq, there was a reason you know...want to hear it?

Weapons of Mass destruction was Bush's argument for going to Iraq, we never found any, UN inspectors never found any, we wll never find any, why because they arent there, our so called "coalition" is full of Nations you have never heard of, those you have heard of wont send troops without UN aproval, before you comment on politics you should get the whole story, watching fox and cnn wont get you there. Which brings me to my point, Germany and France, along with Russia, Isreal, Turkey, India, Mexico, and every other large nation in the world did not join this coalition because they know like we knew there were no weapons, Iraq posed ZERO direct threat to the United States, of course we did kill 1000's of inocent women, children and non combatant males to prove that, but hey we arent the bad guys...are we? I mean its ok to kill 1000's for our own protection right? The price of freedom is the the death of inocence i guess, but hey what do i know, since the majority of you seem to live with your eyes closed and for some odd reason beleive EVERYTHING YOUR TOLD BY TV i guess im just wrong. Of course i base my views and opinions on documented facts so who knows.

As for the French and the revolutionary war we would have lost it without them, they gave us guns, food, and clothes, you really think we would have beaten the heavily armed brittish without guns? or food? or clothes? 70% of our supplies for that war came from france, along with ships and technology, not to mention tactics and planning, maybe you should brush up on some history, high school doesnt tell you everything, a war cannot be summed up in 2 days and a chapter in a text book.

Of course im prepared for the barrage of "your just so wrong you idiot" replies, but i ask you not to waste your time because i can prove im right, can you?

OK, even a boring guy like me can see that this has gotten way too serious. Steve, you believe what you believe, and you feel that your reasons are very good. Others believe what they believe, and they probably feel that their reasons are very good. I've been around long enough to know that whichever way you feel about something, you can probably find documentation to support it.

I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm not saying you're right. All I'm saying is, please, let's not go any further down this path. If anyone really wants to debate it, why not take it to PMs? After all, neither side is probably going to sway anyone through the evidence they post in a video game forum.

If I'm wrong and you all want to keep debating it right here, I'll just ignore the thread and let you have at it - I'm not a mod. But before I get down from my soapbox, I want to paraphrase something I read on another website recently: we're all here because we like the Xbox (or at least its games). We come from all over the world and from all different backgrounds - we shouldn't expect to agree on most things outside of the Xbox, and we shouldn't even expect to agree on everything regarding the Xbox.
