Halo 2 Ending (Maybe a spoiler?)

Ok, is it just me, or is the ending lame as FUCK! I just beat the game (on easy, yeah, so what?), and MY GOD, I truly wasn't expecting the credits to role.
"Sir, finishing this fight." so I'm thinking, alright, the battle's back on Earth, but nope, the credits start, what the fuck? And then after the credits, that tentacle plant just wants to ask Cortana questions, is that supposed to be meaningful? I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I feel pretty cheated :(.

you aren't cheated... in Halo 1 they didn't reveal what Master Chief looked like and people thought they were cheated...

The ending after the credits is supposed to make you ask questions. Is Cortana turning her back on Master Chief and Earth? Or is she just being sarcastic with Gravemind.

But I was surprised by it ending just like that. I was getting asked by my g/f when I was going to beat the game on the last level and I told her I had like 2 more levels and to save earth still.. and then it suddenly ended so it was a surprise.

I am still feeling a little left out on the other Spartans, wish they would just mention them and put them in the game for once.

Quite frankly, i don't want to wait another coulpe of years for Halo 3. *since bungie is making a new non-halo game next*

Although:
1) play as the covenant *i was expecting this to be more like an unlockable type thing*
2) ambient life...saw a few "birds" and a few fish...nothing i could kill though :(
3) was it just me but when i faced the last brute guy he jumps off the ledge *which shows him die, and yet he is magically back killing my guys? wtf?

I saw birds, fish, and bugs. I killed a couple of the birds. There was something about some protocol or something that Cortana encountered while in the system, she didn't think it was Covenant or something like that. They never explained that, or mention it more than once. Yeah, but it's hard to tell what Cortana meant at the end cuz her face is always in this sarcastic smirk.
I might not be remembering right, but in the last game, weren't you trying to keep the Covenant from getting Cortana? Then in this game you just put her right into their system.

I don't know, I really really liked the game, but that ending, it wasn't an ending. It was like Lord of the Rings or something.

Well technically you did a similar thing in Halo 1, and in First Strike you put Cortana in w/Covie AI...

Ok, just beat it on Normal, same ending...anyone beat it on a higher difficulty? I went back and chose the last level on Heroic and beat it, but nothing changed (I didnt know if that would work or not).

And yes, by God, i feel cheated. The ending is so dumb.

I am running through Legendary right now, but I have a long way to go still. Did not play any last night, but might do some co-op with the girlfriend this weekend. She wants to give it a try.

Theres credits? Damn my xbox is fucked up. It just showed MC say his line. Then it went black for 15 seconds, then that plant thing talking to cortana, couldn't really hear it though. i have a surrond sound system, the music tends to over power the voice acting.

Yeah the ending did suck violently, oh well, still fun any ways. Though it was just getting awsome, fighting with hunters and marines!

I was looking at the back of my friends crappy normal addition case last night, did you guys notice how the descption is completely wrong? Talking about fighting along side the last of earths forces when what really happened you fought on earth then left right away, taking half the city with you. I miss the tease flick of halo when it showed earth getting bombed to crap. The first earth levels tended to feel like a iraq war game with aliens, though they were still fun.


p.s. should i try to find a new diskdrive on ebay or see if i can trade my xbox in for an other?

Apperantly I'm the only one that liked that ending, it made for the perfect set up for halo3. I realize most people feel cheated because they want to know what happens but in all honesty that is a great cliffhanger to leave it on. That way when the next halo comes out every one will buy it just to see how it ends.

Personally, to be continued endings are for weekly shows, not quadannual games.

Actually Halo 3 is probably coming out in 2006. I hear the reason it took Bungie so long to make the game was because of dual development of both. Also I would expect Phoenix as a launch game with Xbox 2, then a year later Halo 3 (2006 maybe 2007).
