Alright... where are my fellow PC gamers?

Anyone play online?

I soon hope to join the online play. What's stopping me? My current PC.

I'm building a new PC, though.

I only have the graphics card, which is excellent, I hear. ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. I'll be getting the motherboard soon, I hope, and not sure about processors. Maybe an AMD 2600+ XP or something like that. Nothing too fast or expensive as I don't think I'll need it with my card. Oh, and 1GB of RAM, or at least 512 (hopefully 768 or 1GB).

I play Star Wars Galaxies online and Command and Conquer: Generals with friends. I'll be getting Half-Life 2 as soon as it comes out, and I can't wait to play Everquest 2 because I never got a chance to play the first.

I've got 512 MB of RD ram, with a 2.4 Ghz computer, and soon I'll be upgrading my crappy graphics card to a Radeon 9600 XT.

Now I am much wiser and I have decided not to buy one afterall, I am going to build one. I will probably be buying the parts sometime in December, so I will have it all built and ready to go depending on how long it takes the parts to get to my house. Im hoping to have the thing ready to go before Christmas so I can enjoy it over vacation.

I loved playing the Serious Sam games. Those are the two that I used to always play. :) But I've stopped playing PC games and just play Xbox Live.

I'm a PC gamer, but the only thing I really play online is Diablo II - open realms. I have characters at most levels of progression, from a lvl 12 hardcore necromancer through a lvl 69 (I think) werewolf to another necro, this one at lvl 82.

I just got a new laptop (from work) that can play newer games, so I started playing Freedom Force - I'm a big fan of comic books. Anyone else play that game? If so, got any cool custom heroes or know where I can download some? My team doesn't exactly have the prestige to recruit anyone good yet, but it's really cool to see what people come up with when they have that kind of creative options open to them.

Damn dude! That's one nice computer, seriously.

Tucker, I thought Diablo II was amazingly fun until my character was done and dueling was the only thing I could do. I loved dueling more than anything in the game but after a while people started hacking too much so I quit.

With my favorite chars being necros... you can guess how well I'd do in a duel. That's why I play almost exclusively single-player. When I'm online, I pretty much just go around helping low level people level up. It's sad to have to quit a game because some idiot with hacked equipment goes hostile on you - how can you beat someone with skills in the 50s who does 20000 points of damage with one hit? I can totally see why you'd quit if you like to duel.

I used to alternate between console and computer, but then got a job working on a computer and that seems to have killed my enthusiasm a little, maybe when I get a new computer I'll be more inspired to play more than Pogo (http://www.pogo.com)...

Yeah for a while the computer gaming died off with me but lately it's picked up a LOT with the hype coming from Half-Life 2. Also by playing games like Generals and SWG it helps keep you interested. Right now there are some nice games I'm wanting, including Far Cry.

The Radeon I'm going to be buying will help.

Yeah man Call of Duty is a GREAT game. I got two demo levels off of gamespot and I've been playing those a lot lately. It feels like you're right in the game... especially with the first level.

Alienware dosn't take the time to overclock everything as well. You could essentially knock at least $1000 off an alienware computer just because it dosn't have the brand name (and probably works better)

i agree with Fijimunkii, home built computers are not only better because they work better and is a little cheaper than some companies like alien ware, but u also get to learn more about the computer and on top with that at least u are more proned to figure how to fix a problem if an occasion may occur.

Zzero, I put that on my Christmas list to Santa.

The only PC games I've been playing lately have been Team Fortress, Starcraft and Counter-Strike (not 1.6, it blows.) I've been having urges to play Battlefield, Desert Combat, or Galactic Conquest, but my computer is a POS.

I agree 1.6 blows big time along with all of steam. DoD 1.1 once again killed my dreams of having the Garand be a decent weapon once again like it was in DoD 3.1b, now the garand only kills if hit in the chest or head while in real life if you were shot in the leg with a 30-06 round it would tear it off and you would bleed to death. I also miss the bleeding to death from 3.1 too.

Sooooo... I bought this pack of games because it included Freedom Force (which totally rocks, now that I've had a chance to play it). It also had Command and Conquer: Renegade (think it's an FPS), Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and some online game that I'll totally ignore.

Has anyone played either of those other games? I don't want to even bother to install them if they totally suck.

Hot Pursuit is old but i used to have fun playing it on the platstation and i heard Renegade was alright

I used to play UT2k3 A LOT online but I don't really anymore. I am going to be getting a new more powerful computer soon, but mostly for designing and playing top tier games like HL2 (but mostly for previewing reasons).
