October 19, 2004 - There are few films whose trailers can draw crowds to theaters all by themselves. The Star Wars prequels have proven to be among those few, and next month will they will exert their influence once again as fans converge on local theaters for a glimpse of Revenge of the Sith.

So which movie is the lucky one? That was a guarded secret until this week, but now Cinescape is reporting that the trailer will be shipped with The Incredibles, Pixar's new animated film which opens November 5th. We suggested this as one possibility in last week's Star Wars trailer update.

Cinescape's source also mentions that theater managers in some cases might choose to put the trailer on another movie instead. If you're set on seeing the Sith preview on the weekend of November 5th, it would be smart to check with the manager at your local cinema for confirmation.

If you can't wait for the big screen, the teaser will also most likely be aired on the November 4th broadcast of Access Hollywood, which is syndicated by NBC in the US. An online version will probably appear the same evening, and Hyperspace subscribers might get an early peek (there's no official word yet).

Posters and banners will also probably begin appearing in theater venues once the first trailer is out. Stay tuned for more!

And now that we have the annoucement, here is the spoiler.

Last Chance........

Highlight to read better
SPOILER WARNING!

The first half of trailer consists of ... (begin spoilers - highlight to read) a familiar voice over with Alec Guinness. Fans will love to hear him speak his monologue to Luke from A New Hope about "Jedi Knights always being the guardians of peace." As we hear these familiar phrases, they've intercut shots from various Star Wars episodes, excluding Episode 3. Only when the monologue ends with "Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force" about 40 seconds into the trailer do we see the face of Anakin. He is partly covered with dark hood, looking positively evil.
This is followed by the shot of erupting volcanoes, then some sort of volcanic field with crab-like creatures and then darkness, all accompanied by Vader breathing. Then the following is heard:

Sidious: "Lord Vader..."

Vader: "Yes?"

Sidious: "Rise."

Then we see Anakin in full Vader gear rising on some sort of operating table to which he is chained. The rising is slow and is intercut with shot of various Star Wars main characters. When the table has fully risen so that Vader is basically standing upright, the meatiest part of trailer begins, with many, many shots from Episode III. Most of them are very, very short - this will be something for freeze-frame fanatics to analyze.

The ones that stuck in my memory:

Dozens of Wookiees on some sort of floating platform.

Padme with signature Leia hairdo.

The Tri-Fighter, aka the precursor to the TIE fighter with three curving wings and guns mounted between each wing. They shoot red lasers.

The ARC Clonefigthter, aka the precursor to X-Wing, with three wings on each side.

A gigantic starship being sprayed by streams of something that looks like dense acid.

The trailer ends with the title "THE SAGA IS COMPLETE - MAY 2005" and ... (end spoilers) is about 100 seconds long.

If it does'nt completely own, someone should KILL the director. Most people saw the last 2 movies as complete let downs.(I my self thought they were pretty good, the second more so than the first) So if he cant make it up with this one, the only thing that can redeem him is death.

I think .mov is the only format right now. Thats where starwars.com the offical site had it as, then other sites started hosting it.

By the way some people on battlefront recommended checking out the new revenge of the sith game trailer which just realeased. It looks pretty sweet for lucas arts, whose not really greatly known for their graphics.

Hell this game trailer has me more hyped for the movie then the movie trailer lol.

The game doesn't look half-bad either, it's like Prince of Persia meets Star Wars.
