I am in quite the quandry. *and no this has nothing to do w/the leaked version.*
I have Halo 2 on pre-order and paid in my hometown.
However i wouldn't be able to get it till thanksgiving...and thats quite the wait when other people in your mod have the chance to get better than you. And that just can't be tolerated lol.
I could also just get it online and have in in 4 days of the release. (and help my ebay rating)
Now im thinking to just suck it up and get another copy on ebay. *my friends are picking up the copy of Halo 2 that i have preordered..and their b-days are comming up (they are twins) and just have that be the b-day present)
am i a nut?

Halo 2 is a game one should not spend time waiting for, but rather.... playing. Seriously, just get the Ebay copy.

Seriously, I'd just pick it up online unless you want to run the chance of the game store selling your copy before you pick it up, happened to me with Steel Battalion.

Hmmm, I would say wait, since you already have it paid for. Two copies of the same game is a good amount of $$ to loose. The gift idea works though - unless you were going to buy them something else cheaper.
I know, I know, what kinda fan are you telling someone to wait for H2, but the $$$ gotta stay tight. But dont worry, I will probably be one of the first in line to get my copy once its out. I will probably preorder the week before its release so I can guarantee my copy too. :D

Wolfy, the sooner you pre-order the better. Stores around here are stopping taking them, cause they are out of copies.

Well its is paid for, and everyone is happy now! Huzzah.
Anywho Goku#### is right, there are more and more stores that are putting Halo 2 pre-orders on the 2nd shipment.
