Today the iMac G5 was announced, the unit which was designed by the makers of iPod looks like the new Apple Displays but with a white screen, and slightly thicker--it is slightly thicker because the entire comp is within the monitor, DVD-R, graphics card, powersupply, everything. The unit starts at $1,200 for the 17 in 1.6hz up to $1700 for the highest end model with 1.8 ghz G5 and 20in monitor.

Of course, it also comes with a mouse and keyboard. I definately plan on getting this comp in the near future. You can check it out here http://www.apple.com/imac

It looks cool, but I still dont like the fact that its unupgradable. If the picture goes in the monitor, then you are out an entire PC.

the specs are alright. You can probably upgrade it but you will be taking a serious chance. If i can put an extra stick of ram and a better vid card then it's good to go. It's also a space saver..oh well it is just another computer to look at.

Reports have come in that it is easily upgradable like the old imacs. The graphics card is a huge gripe from many though.
