Has anyone else played the Source beta of CS yet?

The game is quite addicting, hell the physics engine is very awsome (Made by a company called Havok not Valve). The feel of movement is very different and shooting is so inaccurate. Graphics had a pretty big boost and it plays just as smooth as old cs...ok maybe not I lost like 10 fps but it wasnt noticable at all.

Oh by the way they uped the max players per server to 64 from 32... you think 32 was alot of people... pfft.

Heard your bullets can actually go through wood and it leaves a hole. Whens the actual game coming out?

It's supposed to be bundled with Half-life 2.

Right now there are some big skywalking and going behind walls glitches, but they are working alot and releasing updates almost daily that fix issues players are finding.

Pump Shotgun rocks. Nades are alot better. Awp still is a 1 hit wonder, but it seems harder to aim because of the way the models move now, but maybe thats because I'm not used to it. Headshots sound really great (As if I know what a bullet sounds like going through someones head.) Like I said before the Physics are what make this new update so cool, just the way people die and the poitions they land in. Hell today I threw a nade at 3 ct's and killed them all, one flew right at me and landed on his head and the other two flew backwards and came to rest on their backs.

One time I planted the bomb and just because the physics are so fun I wanted to see how far I would fly so I sat on the bomb. I flew so high I went off of the map. People were laughing so hard and they were giving me ratings like it was the olympics one judge gave me a 10

People Blow themselves up with nades just to see how wacky and crazy they can die.

All the sounds are great and for you people that like to take the time to make custom sprays you'll love how detailed and easy it is now to create them... so I'll end with the 2 min spray I did... (Note: This Looks exactly as it does in game) And yes Tok'ra is my name in CS.

Where can i get in on the beta?

I think you can download it on Steam.

You can play it at LAN centers or I believe you need to have purchased CS: Condition Zero in order to be eligable to participate in the beta at the moment.

You must have Condition Zero installed on your computer and have it in steam. Then the option to download the beta will appear. You can also be a member of some half-life 2 program that i never heard of... bottom line if you dont see it automatically in steam you wont be able to get it.

Edit: Boo the update yesterday got rid of the 256x256 sprays :duhx: Oh well my spray was automatically converted to 128x 128 and it still looks great ingame.

Is CS:CZ any good? I dont have it yet.

CZ wasnt what I expected at all and to me with was pretty much the same damn thing people were playing for free.

Nothing change except a few noticable traits.

1. All the maps were totally reskined
2. All the Guns were reskined and giving better sound.
3. The game was actually much easier for example the guns sprayed with better accuracey and the head hitbox was bigger, so everyone could get a headshot just from spraying all the time.

Then there were people like me that have played cs from the begining that are veterans who have just that nice aiming and fast reflex that just murdered in cz just beause it was easier. This I found out wasnt a good thing though because even though I rocked at cz people would say I was hacking or something half minded and made up. Hell I even got banned from 3 servers by admins that said they demoed me so they would have proof I hacked, but really i wasnt at all.

So for all you people that have been called a noob in cs or cz (which is 99% of us) be happy because if you actually get to good at the game you will get tormented.

So my final thought about you buying it is NO. Halflife 2 is coming out pretty soon and it is suposed to be bunched with that game. Along with that HL2 engine their will be many new third party games coming out... The one gaining alot of hype is Jurassic Rage.

The idea with that mod is to have 3 teams 2 of them will be humans which will be played by the people sitting at their comps in a classic deathmatch. The twist is there will be Dinos running around attacking you as your attacking the other team. Players cannot control dinos but I think this will make for a cool coop/deathmatch gameplay.

Great advice. All of Valve's older games are part of the "Back Catalog" that comes bunched with Silver and Gold Purchases.

It includes HL, OP4, TFC, CS, DoD, DeathMatch, Ricochet, and CZ

I did not realize I had it until I started to DL it after my HL2 purchase. :thumb2:

I had massive problems logging onto steam to verify my s/n so I could play online.

TWO days later I could log on and let me tell you... for some reason the game just feels like it runs faster then the beta version. I love the new gameplay the Awp isnt really as useful now because of the way the skins move.

Things I dont like are the new objects that are around, they just seem to get in the way of your attacking or running away from someone.

I think thats the point of them. I can't tell you how many times in office my team has barackaded itself in with the hostages and won because of it.

yeah fun stuff untill ct through a nade and take out the chairs. but i love the objects since they also give away your possition sometimes.
