Ok listen up and listen well... I want to buy a router with wireless capabilities. Now what I have in mind is this. http://page.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/auction/87016611?aucview=froogle
If I were to purchase this item what other items would I have to buy to connect 2 computers to share the same internet connection. And how much they would cost.

Compaq and Dell both using Windows XP. Running on SBC 2 wire DSL. Please talk only if you know what your doing cuz this is money out of my own pocket.

All depends on your setup. If the computers are in the same room, use wired networking cards and connect them via the router. If they are in seperate rooms in the house, buy one wireless networking card for the computer in the room without net connection. The computer in the room with ur internet connection doesn't need a wireless card, you connect via the wired network card.

I use a linksys router for my laptop that has wireless connections.. It gave me over 200 feet leeway or more as I tested out the distance it still works when not being close to the router. It's a nice router but certainly not the best out there that I at least have.

I use a netgear MR814v2. I love a netgear product. They last longer than any others I have experienced with.

Its only 11mbps wireless, but the only thing I wireless with is my PDA. Other than that, I use really long cat5 everywhere. Nothing like a cat5 cable. :thumb2:

Netgear has some other routers that have much faster wireless speeds if you are interested. But I would definitly look at that brand.

I actually have the same exact model you linked to. The D-Link Dl-624. Its a fairly reliable wireless router, nice and easy to set-up. It also works great with the Xbox wireless ethernet adapter so thats always a plus.

Yes I to have blue Cat cables all over, 1 to the xbox, 1 to my main comp, and last to a shitty computer that is only used for typing and email. I use a D-link 604.
