I know I'm looking forward to this one. It comes out Novemeber 18th so should be in stores by the 20th. If you'd like a preview pick up this past months OXM or go to your local retailer as some are giving away the demo. Definately worth a play.

'fraid I don't even know what MTG stands for. To me that says "I'm not getting it."

Ah! Thanks. I haven't played the card game, but I gave the demo a shot. Seemed like the kind of game lots of people would like... just not me.

The game looks pretty interesting. I played the demo and thought it was pretty good, but then got tired of playing it. I'll probably rent it just to play online for a little bit and see how that is. :)

the rules are same as the card game, but the game play is pretty cool. But u gotta be a old school mtg the card game player to really admire this game. For beginners, this game is pretty good to start, before playin the card game b/c the video game explains rules better. If you have not played the card game, don't think it's like yugio or however u spell it. It's a similar game with a lot more rules and it harder tooo.

I’m a big MTG fan, but I don’t know if this game will be any good or not. I played the demo, but it didn’t impress me much. I’m gonna rent it first, and if I like it then I’ll buy it.

I find the demo a lot of fun playing against real people... the AI sucks horribly in the demo (and according to a review the full game isn't much better) but when you play against other players wow does this game take a different dimension...

I'm getting the game for the online play which the review said they pulled off really well...

I rented it, multiplayer sucks right now cause I don’t have enough cards to effectively customize my deck, and single player is hard as hell.
It’s pretty fun though. My only problem is that it gets pretty chaotic sometimes, so it’s hard to keep track of what’s going on.

my god, I HAVE TO GET THIS!!!

How does collecting cards and making your own deck work? I'm really confused. Is it live! compatable?

SilentDeath

yes it is live compatablile

Yes it is fun, but it can get complicated, and frustrating. You have to use strategy to win, if you don’t you’ll always lose. You also have to execute your strategy perfectly, 1 mistake could cost you the match.

You get more cards by beating levels on quest. Every level you beat gives you 1 more card.
You can then use your cards to customize your deck, which can only have 10 cards in it. I think you can have more than 1 color of card, but I haven’t unlocked it yet.

could a MTG N00b like me get in on it?

One question though, what's up with the 10 card decks? I've never heard of anything like that.

Haven’t you played the demo? This isn’t the normal card game, it’s something like Lost Kingdoms for GC.
You select 10 cards, you have these card at all time, no drawing. You collect mana crystals, and cast spells, however there are no turns. Everything is live action.
Also a new person would be able to play, the quest mode is basically a giant strategy tutorial.

I picked up the game and am thouroughly enjoying it :D

Single Pleyer is tough as mentioned above, however you can put it down to easy if you need to to get past a quest... and you only really need to complete the first 5 chapters as the 6th is just facing the bosses over and you don't unlock cards that I know of...

Multiplayer is great online and you really do see a lot of strategies... to tell you the truth I haven't really run into many overrun decks like I thought I would,,, Dual color decks appear to suck at first but just require a different way of thinking about them...

A word of warning: If your game is constantly freezing at the same point, there is a known glitch with the game caching... there are several methods to fix this mostly just needing to clear out the cache by deleteing the save (after copying the profile to the mem card), playing 3 games for at least 5 min each, or creating games with different levels until the corrupted cache is cleared out...
