Im working pretty much all summer for my dad and I figured I would have enough money to finally get my own computer. It would be really cool because I share one computer with 5 other people and theres so much crap taking up space and a whole bunch of other things. Its ridiculous! Anyways I was just wondering if any of you know any sites or places to make or get a good computer? I was looking at Falcon Northwest and they look ok. I also need a place that ships to Canada if possible... :help1:

First off, if you're buying from a computer dealership, you might want to check you budget, how much are you willing to dish out in order to get this computer?

Also, you want to consider what this computer will be used for. Gaming, multimedia, etc.

Falcon Northwest is a great place to buy a PC, I would absolutely love to have a custom case with keyboard and mouse, but the lowest I could get the Exotix theme was down to $2k with the cheapest hardware they had, and no monitor. Then again, if you know anyone who has experience with building computers, you'd want to talk with them about helping you build one, it'll be a great money-saver.

Yeah i was looking a Falcon NW. Was looking at the Frag Box. Just don't know if they ship to Canada.

I would probably at the max spend a little over $1,000 on a comp. Probably use it for games but wouldn't have many games on the comp

i'm pretty sure they do but you can goto other companies and get computer for cheaper but are just as good except they don't give you falcon NW's tweaking software of course but the same hardware and everything for a fraction of the cost.

you suck Designer i want that setup. We were gonna build a cluster for IT Foundations last year but the project kinda flopped.

Well what you can do is grab some old piece of x86 machines and cluster em still good.

I bought mine from Cyberpower, and I know a few other people who have as well. We're all pretty satisfied, and their prices were good. If you're not in the mood to deal with the hassles of building your own, check them out and configure your own PC.

Well you can go pretty much anywhere to build your own computer like that.

I built like 60 computers? this year. So you know what, might as well build your first. ;)

Im also in the IT field but thats besides the point.

If you need any tips i perform many benchmarks/testings on hardware etc...just ask me.
Also befoe you ask
AMD > Pentium for gaming
AMD > Pentium for price
Pentium > AMD for RISC based procesors
Pentum > Running at lower temperatures

A pentium and a AMD at the same price range, the AMD will perform 2x better on gaming. This has come from my own benchmarks and thousands of other public ones.

So any other questions feel free to ask .

yeah its true AMD is much better for gaming because it sends less command to the processor putting less strain on it.

Also Pentium and AMD are built differently ETC. SO you may look at it and say hmm the pentium is running at 3 gighz while the amd is running at 2.4. DONT EVEN LOOK AT THAT, the procesors are built different so one needs less clock cycles to get things done etc etc etc....Very misguiding i know isnt it? =d

also pentuim is running into heating problems

Yup yup, the new pentiums are actually decreasing in performance as well. they hit abottle neck with there design.

Well I personally would recommend a iMac G5 when they are released in September but I am sure you wouldnt go for it. In the PC field, you could get one from Alienware for pretty cheap, or just build your own. Is that price you provided include monitor?

yeah, its what i love about my FX-53 64 bit processor clocks at 2.4 but its much faster :D

edit: I am now labeling John the offical Apple Fan Boy :haha2:

I just can't do the iMac thing. A PC that you cant gut open and upgrade has no value to me, but that is just my personal opinion.
