If I get this game I'd want to be a Knight of some sort, they own. I usually go for the good side but if it's possible to be a Dark Knight I'd probably take that.

For my first and main character I plan on going with a Female Elf that specializes in the art of magic, at the school of magic. In most RPGs the Females tend to have a greater intelligence than the male characters so in the case of my magic character I want to be the best that my character can be. And then the Elves also have the highest amount of intelligence. But if the magic characters tend to only be used as support then I might have to go with a character that is able to adventure on their own. I plan on going out in groups but if it comes down to it I want to be able to go out on my own. So if magic is not destructive I will have to go with a Male Vugol that is a blacksmith so i can create my own ultimate weapons and adventure for new materials. Those are my ideas.

I really want to choose my first character carefully. On one hand I want to look like a cool knight or whatever but also want to look original. I feel that there will be many knights running around when TFLO is finally released and I really feel that looking unique is important. In which case I may opt for someone unusual looking. Although with a bit of luck because of the huge customizable options no one person will look that similar anyway.
So maybe a wizard or a witch that look a little different.

Just because the classes proud skill isnt magic doesnt mean you cant do them with magic sure they wont be the best but you can still do it.

Elves are the best magic casters anyway not humans... humans are a lil bit of everything. The other classes have strengths and weaknesses.

wow triple post, dude next time hit edit and just add it to your first post. and in just about every MMORPG i've played human were the once thar could do just about anything(only average though) just like Lavis said. So it looks like i'll have to be an elf.. i guess thats all right.


Edit: i thought it started of as Mage and then you go to Wizard, it might be me having played too much Ragnarok -_- but in the real world witches and wizzards are seperated by gender(i wish they had warlocks)

I'm Guessing the idea of haveing this judges what skills you would master in. Like defence, offence, team-player etc.

ALL OF THESE ARE GUESSES IVE HEARD AND THOUGHT ABOUT!

I think that when you go to a guild you learn thing like new skills.

But also I think once you complete a few tasks for the guild you get to choose your profession (or job) , but i think for each profession (which is 12 i think) there our 5 or so mini jobs covered in 1 profession. Like if you want to be a lumberjack you are also able to be a miner and fishermen.

Now for what kind of guy you are. I think once you join a guild you can name yourself. Each choice will probaly show what items or spells you can use and a description of what your mini class does. What jobs they our good at and what they suck at.

So if you are an elf for example then you will want to be a magic caster since they are intellegent.

Race: Elf
Class: Monk, Cleric, Sorcerer, Witch, Wizard, Mage, Warlock (since they use magic primaraly)
Job: Since you are intellegent and not so pyhsically fit you will most likely not do hard working jobs like mining or chopping up trees, but u'd do somthing like being a shopkeeper or a barber. Some job that takes brains and not muscules.

ALL OF THIS IS A THEORY AND GUESSES. I MADE UP THE CLASSES FROM OTHER RPGS IVE PLAYED NONE OF THIS IS 100% ACCURATE cept the race :D

LavisBlade posted about names for your characters - names are a big deal I think, it always drives me nuts when I run past an Elf/Archer named Snot RocketFarShot or some other stupid name. Ok its funny at first but I hope they try to keep a Role Playing feel to the game. Don't get me wrong I'm not going to be at home sitting in front of the XBOX dressed up like my character. Some MMORPGs offer Role Playing servers - wonder if TFLO will do the same. Hope so - keeps out monkeys with stupid names !

males get more strength generally and the intelligence is based around magic....so males for attack females for magic. I think I want a cleric, and a chilto that does something for weapon making for my secondary chars.

a tilt is what the translator thinks the word is but really i think its a chilo or dwarven characters.

The translator cannot translate names becuase it wasnt made to.

i still have one ? about lvling if you max out dex will you be better at thrust weapons (dirks, jousters, reapers, tridents, spears, javalins, bows{wich could be str but usualy stealth gies use em}, ext.) and if you maxx strength will you be better with slash weapons and blunt weapons(maces, bats, swords,axes, hammers, wips{which could be dexx}, pole arm {same as wip}, ext.) or will dex gies suck at fighting

i think im gonna try to get a feel of how the different races interact with each profession...but i think im gonna try to have a knight-wizard...focusing on melee action but using some magic....i just hope its possible....and which race im gonna see how elfs work wit this mix of swords and magic....i kno they arent too great wit physical things...but i think the magic might help balance it out.
